The Government of Jamaica in seeking to advance social development, initiatied the Programme of Advancement through Health and Education, PATH.
The PATH program is administered nationally through the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (MLSS) since its inception in 2002, and has become Jamaica's flagship
social assistance program. One of the catergory of benefit from this program is: Children from birth to the completion of secondary school.
One of the program's objective, is to reduce child labour by requiring children to have minimum attendance in schools.
With this in mind, Digitech Software Technologies, saw it fit to develop an application for all schools to monitor and manage the distribution of this benefit in schools
Some primary and secondary educational institutions are having difficulties managing the PATH benefit in schools either because of the vast number of students on the programme,
no mechanism to ensure one benefit per student per day, dishonesty amongst students, and or information is mantained manually and is difficult ro
tabulate and be presented to ensure compliance.
